We have an exciting opportunity within the Path Links pathology services for a Phlebotomist/Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA).
We have 2 x 30 hrs vacancies based in Scunthorpe, working at the Scunthorpe hospital site and the Community Diagnostic Centre.
The Phlebotomy and MLA staff work closely within the Blood Sciences department, supporting blood sample collection and processing for testing on complex analytical platforms.
The Phlebotomy service operates in outpatients, wards, and at the Community Diagnostic Centre.
Responsibilities include supporting the blood test booking line, pathology reception, patient interaction, blood sample collection, and sample processing.
The role is based at Scunthorpe with cross-site work at Goole as required.
Full training will be provided, including theory and practical assessments to ensure competency.
Applications are invited to join our busy, friendly Pathology Department at Scunthorpe General Hospital, Community Diagnostic Centre, and Goole District Hospital. The post is primarily based in Scunthorpe, with flexibility to work at Goole.
The role involves working in the Outpatients Pathology department, blood sample reception, and after training, blood collection from patients and laboratory duties.
Previous experience in phlebotomy or laboratory skills is advantageous. Good communication, flexibility, and teamwork are essential.
The working hours are between 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Monday to Friday, including participation in a weekend rota.
