Endoscopy Healthcare Assistant (HCA)

About the Role
18 Week Support are seeking a motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to support our Endoscopy clinics across Hampshire. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality patient care throughout the endoscopy pathway.
As an Endoscopy HCA, you will play a vital role in supporting patients before, during, and after diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. You will work closely with our Endoscopists, Nurses, and Decontamination staff to ensure a safe, efficient experience for all patients attending the service.
Key Responsibilities
* Support patients throughout their endoscopy journey, providing reassurance and excellent care.
* Assist clinical staff during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
* Prepare clinical rooms and equipment for procedures.
* Monitor and record basic patient observations.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention, and patient safety.
* Assist with patient admissions, recoveries, and discharges.
* Support stock management and equipment checks within the department.
* Ensure patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
About You
* Minimum of 2 years' experience
* Must have at least 6 months Endoscopy experience
* Previous experience within the NHS is essential
* Strong understanding of endoscopy procedures and equipment
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Reliable and committed to delivering safe, effective care
