Financial Controller Role

About the Role
As the Financial Controller, you will report to the Group Finance Director and play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of financial management. You'll lead a dedicated finance team and collaborate across departments to support sound decision-making and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting cycles.
* Produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
* Manage cash flow, optimise receivables and oversee outgoing payments.
* Ensure compliance with PAYE, VAT, Tax, and other HMRC requirements.
* Coordinate payroll processes with HR and external partners.
* Manage creditor payments, banking, insurance, and lease arrangements.
* Oversee standard costing and analyse manufacturing variances.
* Deliver actionable financial insights to guide strategic decisions, including:
* Weekly sales forecasts
* Business case evaluations
* Stock control and optimisation
* Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and internal policies.
* Lead the external audit process and manage auditor relationships.
* Mentor and develop a high-performing local finance team.
* Act as the Finance Key User for the ERP system, ensuring data integrity and process efficiency.
* Partner with department heads to identify and drive cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
About You
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the manufacturing sector.
* Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and relevant financial regulations.
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Excellent analytical skills with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
* Proven leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
