Design Manager Super-Prime Residential Contractor | Central London
£60,000 + package
Jackson Young is working with a well-established, medium-sized super-prime contractor delivering exceptional residential refurbishment and new build projects across Prime Central London and the Home Counties.
They are now looking to appoint a Design Manager to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an architecturally trained professional who wants to take ownership of projects from the outset and play a key role within a high-quality, design-led business.
The Opportunity This position has been created to support a number of newly secured schemes, meaning you will be involved from day one, taking full control of the design process and helping shape project delivery from pre-construction through to completion.
You will typically run two projects concurrently, with a combined value of approximately £14m, working closely with the commercial, construction and client teams to ensure the highest standards of design coordination and delivery.
You will report directly to the Head of Design and will also have support from a shared Design Assistant .
This is a full-time office-based role in Central London, reflecting the collaborative and hands-on culture of the business.
Key Responsibilities Manage the design process from pre-construction through delivery and completion
Take ownership of design coordination across multiple super-prime projects
Lead consultant teams including architects, interior designers and specialist consultants
Review and manage design programmes to ensure alignment with construction and procurement timelines
Identify and manage design risks, buildability issues and value engineering opportunities
Ensure design information is complete, coordinated and issued in line with project requirements
Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and the commercial team to support successful delivery
Maintain the highest standards of quality expected on super-prime schemes
Support the Head of Design in driving best practice and continuous improvement
Candidate Profile Architecturally trained Masters or Degree in Architecture
Minimum 23 years experience working within a contractor environment (essential)
Proven experience managing and coordinating design on construction projects
Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing and buildability
Experience working on high-end residential, prime or super-prime projects would be highly advantageous
Organised, proactive and confident managing multiple stakeholders
Comfortable running multiple projects simultaneously
