About the Role
The Youth Justice Worker supports children and young people in custody at HMP Wetherby. The role is similar to that of a prison officer but specifically focused on the practical care and supervision of young prisoners.
Responsibilities
* Provide practical support for children in custody, including interventions when required.
* Oversee and facilitate safe movement around the site.
* Provide supervision to ensure the safety of young people.
Qualifications
* At least 18 years old.
* Meet Civil Service nationality requirements.
* Pass a DBS check.
* Pass a medical and fitness assessment; the role is physically active.
* Meet eyesight standards in both eyes, with and without corrective lenses.
* Have suitable hearing without the use of hearing aids.
* Tattoos permitted if not offensive, discriminatory, violent or intimidating; facial tattoos generally not acceptable unless for cultural, religious or medical reasons.

Salary
* 37 hours a week: £33,746 per year.
* 39 hours a week: £35,875 per year.
