The Vacancy Community Navigator Location: Belfast CWS Salary: £14.00 - £14.61 Hours: 22.5 Contract Type: Temporary for 17 months until November 2027 About the Role We are currently recruiting for a Community Navigator to join our Mental Health & Addiction Services team. This is an exciting and innovative role focused on supporting people to build stronger social connections, increase community engagement and reduce loneliness. Working directly with service users, you will support individuals to identify meaningful activities, reconnect with their communities, and build confidence in developing and maintaining social relationships. This role forms part of a nationally funded research study, contributing to the development of new approaches to improving social inclusion and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities Build positive, trusting relationships with service users, offering empathetic and person-centred support Support individuals to identify and access local community activities, resources and opportunities Work on a one-to-one basis with a small caseload using a community navigation approach Encourage participation, independence and confidence in developing social connections Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting requirements, including supporting the research study Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to support positive outcomes Promote social inclusion, recovery and a strengths-based approach in all aspects of the role Essential Criteria To be shortlisted, you must be able to demonstrate the following: Circumstances To be flexible in order to meet the needs of the Community Navigator Role. Qualifications & Experience Be educated to QCF/NVQ Level 2, or equivalent, in a related subject e.g. Care and 6 months paid experience supporting people with mental health issues within a health and social care setting. OR A minimum of 12 months paid experience supporting people with mental health issues within a health and social care setting. Knowledge and Skills Have proven experience of motivating, supporting and mentoring Service Users. Have proven experience of supporting individuals with a range of mental health diagnosis. Experience of maintaining service user and agency records. Working knowledge of using IT systems.
