Location: Leeds (commutable from Wakefield, Bradford, Pudsey, Headingley & surrounding areas)
Job Type: Full-time, Long-term (Term-time only)
Pay: £107 – £120 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

SEN Teaching Assistant Job – Leeds
Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Support Worker looking for a rewarding role in Leeds?
We are working with a specialist SEN school in Leeds supporting learners aged 16–25 with autism (ASC) and complex needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to support young adults in developing independence, communication, and essential life skills for adulthood.
Key Responsibilities – SEN Teaching Assistant
1. Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with autism and complex needs
2. Support post-16 learners (ages 16–25) with EHCPs
3. Assist with life skills, independence, and preparation for adulthood
4. Deliver structured, sensory-based learning activities
5. Support communication development using Makaton, PECS, and visual aids
6. Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and wellbeing
7. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals
8. Support with personal care where required
Requirements – SEN Teaching Assistant
9. Experience working with SEN, autism (ASC), or complex needs
10. Background as a Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Care Worker, or Youth Worker
11. A calm, patient, and resilient approach
12. Strong communication and teamwork skills
13. Full-time availability (Monday–Friday)
14. Team Teach or behaviour training (desirable but not essential)
