BeechwoodWard is recruiting for a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team based atthe Evington Centre which is in the grounds of Leicester General Hospital. Weare looking for someone who has sound knowledge and experience of the patientcohort, a proactive approach to problem solving and the ability to respondquickly to challenges. Our team prides itself onproviding the best outcomes for our patients and works closely as an MDT toachieve this.
The ward is nurse led which will give you high levels of autonomy andsatisfaction in delivering excellent care, supporting rehabilitation andincreasing patient independence. Theward has 24 female beds and provides sub-acute care, complex rehabilitation andcare in the last days of life.
Therole would suit an existing band 6 nurse or experienced band 5. Knowledge andunderstanding of Community Hospitals would be an advantage, although notessential. In the role you would be responsible for co-ordinating the nursingteam and providing visible clinical leadership. In addition, you would assistthe band 7 Team Leader in the management of the ward and ensuring highstandards of patient care.

Main duties of the job
Deputise forthe Team Leader in their absence.
Activelycontribute to setting and maintaining high standards of nursing care.
Provideeffective clinical leadership and supervision to the ward team.
Contribute aspart of the MDT to the improvement of services and quality of care provision tomeet the needs of patients and their families.
Act as a rolemodel, mentoring, teaching, assessing and supporting students and learners onplacement and participate in the education, development and mentorship of otherstaff.
