Role: Multi-skilled (Electrical Bias) Maintenance Engineer Salary: £40,500 (£38,500 basic £2,000 shift allowance) Shift: Days-based shift only, 4x On, 4x Off (06:00am - 16:00pm) Location: Blackburn, Accrington, Burnley area Company: Plastic Moulding Manufacturing Business supplying customers in variety of sectors Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working Days based shift only, 4x On, 4x Off (06:00am - 16:00pm), you will be responsible for performing corrective/preventive maintenance tasks and recognised diagnostic procedures to resolve automation and injection moulding faults and breakdowns. You’ll provide technical support to production departments and participate in the measuring, monitoring and recording of maintenance data including electronic reporting, scheduling and spares control. You’ll have good practical electrical knowledge of electrical and ideally have PLC (Mitsubishi) programming, mechanical systems and a good understanding of current HS&E standards and regulations. This role requires a high degree of flexibility and adaptability across skills to ensure production targets are met within a small family business. Key aspects of the role include: Perform day-to-day delivery of maintenance tasks, specifically reactive/preventative/predictive maintenance, and corrective maintenance and conduct performance improvement initiatives. Provide effective and efficient support to the Engineering Supervisor and Maintenance Team including the compilation of end of shift reports, root cause analysis, fault logging and data entry. Identify the root cause of faults/breakdowns and prioritise corrective actions. Monitor and review day-to-day equipment performance and improve outputs. Take the lead in optimisation initiative and play an integral role in continuous improvement. Electrical fault finding, mechanical strip downs, PPM work and occasional small-scale installation jobs, to safety checks and inspections. Key Skills: As the Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, you’ll need to have to have the following skills and experience in order to be successful in the role. They are; Experience working within a plastic moulding manufacturing facility would be highly desirable but not essential. Time Served Electrically bias or Electrical qualifications with demonstrated working knowledge. Demonstrated knowledge of electrical/mechanical installation and maintenance. Good understanding of electrical distribution. Ability to understand and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings, schematics and manuals Minimum 1-3 years post qualification experience. Experience of working as part of an effective maintenance team. Always puts Health and Safety first. Strong electrical fault-finding skills. Good mechanical engineering grounding. First-hand experience of maintaining equipment in a fast-paced production environment, a good knowledge of hydraulic circuits, along with a flexible approach and the ability to communicate complex issues effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a keen eye for Health, Safety and Quality. Able to work autonomously, with a ‘right first time’ mentality Self-motivated, hardworking, reliable and trustworthy.
