The main duties and responsibilities of the Bakery Machine Operator role are:
* To work as part of the bakery/Savoury team and produce high quality, attractive and food safe bakery products.
* To become familiar and skilled in various methods of manufacture, from hand-made products to those produced using a variety of machines.
* To accurately follow any recipe, work process or production method determined by the company. Any variance from such instructions or specifications must be authorised by a member of the management team.
* To ensure that product is picked correctly according to the shop order sheets and placed in the location allocated to each shop.
* To meet the times identified on the dispatch schedule for transport to depart the bakery each day to deliver to shops.
* To complete, clearly and correctly, any paperwork which may be required for production, dispatch, food safety or other purposes.
* To monitor the use of raw materials ensuring that they are used efficiently and within the best before or use by dates and that all raw materials are stored correctly and in accordance with instructions.
* To identify and report to your line manager any shortages of finished product or raw materials which may occur.
* To ensure that all trays, baskets, bowls, utensils and any other piece of equipment which requires cleaning to be returned to the washery or traywash areas.
* To be familiar with the operation of the dishwasher and to use it throughout the day to ensure that equipment and utensils are cleaned as soon after use as possible.
* To report to management any damage to equipment and machinery as soon as it becomes evident that damage has taken place.
* During busy periods or other times when the business has issues with manpower for whatever reason you may be required to work temporarily as part of a different shift or department.
