Overview
As a Team Lead you will be part of the Engineering team at LDMS, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver world‑class financial software for LDMS’ partners and clients. The role focuses on managing the delivery commitments of the team and the performance of team members.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivery
o Organising delivery ceremonies (refinement, planning, etc.)
o Driving a culture of continuous improvement
o Balancing the capacity of the team between product and technical debt improvements
o Ensuring that software has been developed to the agreed appropriate level of quality
* Line Management
o Regular structured 1‑2‑1s
o Setting quarterly SMART objectives in line with business objectives
o Understanding and supporting career development
* Coaching & Mentoring
o Setting quarterly personal objectives
o Coaching attitudes and behaviours
* Reporting
o Providing visibility on progress and issues to Head of Product Engineering
* Facilitating and unblocking
o Single point of contact for the team
o Working closely with other Team Leads to ensure coordination of effort
o Providing a point of escalation for the team
o Facilitating team ownership of software, delivery & quality
* Technical Project Management
o Running technical initiatives in a structured way alongside product delivery
* Knowledge
o Knowledge sharing, both intra and inter team
o Identifying training requirements
o Ensuring the team produce documentation to the required standard
Requirements
* A solid understanding of agile software development practices and the art of software development
* Good verbal, written and communication skills
* A proven track record of delivering software projects
* Line management experience
* Coaching & Mentoring
* Hands‑on Java Engineering Experience (preferably Java 8+)
Desirable but not essential skills:
* Experience developing REST APIs with Java (preferably Java 8+) and Spring Boot
* Knowledge of SQL DBs, preferably Postgres or Oracle
* Experience working with modern Continuous Integration tooling such as Jenkins
* Experience with version control systems such as Git
