Role: Senior Officer (Business Development)
Location: GCHSCP, Commonwealth House, 32 Albion Street, Glasgow, G1 1LH
Contract Status: Temporary, up to 18 months
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to work for Scotland's largest local authority, in partnership with the NHS, to safeguard the data rights of our service users, past and present.
The Complaints, Freedom of Information (FOI), and Investigations Team (CFIT) within the Business Development section of Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) handles complaints, FOI responses, and duties under the Data Protection Act 2018, including providing guidance on Data Protection matters.
We seek a dedicated individual to manage a new temporary specialist team within CFIT for up to 18 months. This role offers a chance to develop managerial skills and expertise in social work and UK data protection legislation, while positively impacting vulnerable populations.
Candidates should have substantial experience in Data Protection work and knowledge of relevant legislation, with some understanding of Social Work Services. The role requires organizational skills, meticulousness, excellent communication, and analytical ability to resolve complex and sensitive information requests professionally and empathetically. Line management experience is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
1. Managing a small team performing complex redaction activities in compliance with statutory requirements.
2. Developing and implementing processes aligned with UK data protection legislation.
3. Engaging in meaningful work supporting vulnerable individuals.
4. Ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
5. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to fulfill statutory duties.

This role is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended). Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 2nd June 2025.
