We are seeking an experienced frontend or full stack developer with experience writing well tested and maintainable React frontends. This person will work collaboratively with fellow software engineers in support of our three science teams. This is an exciting opportunity to join our accomplished and diverse organisation, recognised for its groundbreaking greenSynth DNA synthesis technology. The successful candidate will have a key role in the refinement and future development of our web frontend supporting innovative research activities and our multinational clients.
This is an office-based role, working within our flexible working policy.
Role Responsibilities
* Refine and develop the existing frontend for the Cimban web app
* Develop additional frontends in collaboration with lab scientists and clients, using both React and Benchling canvas apps
* Data mining for continual technology improvements
* Train others in frontend best practices
* Present results at internal company meetings
Essential Skills and Experience
* Degree in computer science, maths, physics, computational biology or related field
* React
* Typescript
* Vite
* Storybook
* Experience of Linux
* Collaborative, can-do approach with excellent communication skills and desire to work as part of a high-performing team
Desirable Skills and Experience
* UX design using Figma or equivalent software
* Python
* FastAPI
* Alembic

* Cybersecurity and secure software development practices
* Bioinformatics
* Relational database design and development (SQL)
* Laboratory information management systems, preferably Benchling
Title: Frontend/Full stack Developer
Location: Chesterford Research Park, Cambridge
