The post holder will work within the Public Health Service within the 0-19 Service to promote the health and wellbeing of school age children so they are able to reach their full potential and not be disadvantaged through ill health.
The Screener will have a key responsibility in undertaking the school health screening and surveillance programme. They will play an integral part in supporting the delivery of Key Improvement Priorities and supporting the wider team to deliver high quality services for families living in North Yorkshire.
The post holder will deliver key areas of the service specification, national Healthy Child Programme and public health outcomes framework. They will refer to specialist service in accordance with clinical pathways and support children and families to seek support where required.
The post holder will enter data results onto the computer child health system and local systmone.
The post holder will work alongside other professionals in the public health pillar delivering key health promotion messages to support the health and wellbeing of children ensuring every contact counts through the promotion of good health and the prevention of ill health in the community. They will assist in the development of Health Promotion programmes, for example, Decider Skills session, when required and deemed appropriate by the trust.
