Are you an experienced and motivated administrator, who enjoys being part of a friendly team?

Our children’s community nursing team is looking for a dynamic and pro active administration assistant to join our Single Point of Access (SPA).

The Community Children’s Nursing Service provides a wide range of nursing support to children and families within Oxfordshire. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Single Point of Access (SPA).

You will be the first point of contact for patients and families and will be confident in communication, have excellent organisational skills and be able to process referrals, book appointments, manage procurement processes and be able to adapt to the changing demands of the service.

The service works from 8.00am to 8.00pm, 7 days a week and there is a requirement to work a shift pattern.


Main duties of the job

To assist the service/team in all administration duties relating to the day to day running of the
team/service.

To process referrals using local procedures and to book appointments with families and record these
using online records.

Prioritise a busy workload and work using own initiative, both independently and as part of a team

Order, check, maintain and distribute equipment and supplies for the team and other agencies as
required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be the first point of contact for patients and their families through SPA (Single Point of Access)

Processing new to the service patient referrals onto the system

Booking appointments onto the system for patients and colleagues and confirming by phoning or emailing.

Ordering and distributing equipment and supplies to patients in the community

Essential


Essential criteria

* Good general level of education including GCSE English and Mathematics
* Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Excellent prioritisation skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Excellent keyboard skills
* Previous experience in an administrative office role and/or a qualification to NVQ Level II
* Ability to work in a team
* Ability to work under limited supervision
* Ability to travel between sites


Desirable criteria

* Ability to minute meetings
* Experience of using EPR/EMIS
* Previous NHS experience in a similar role.
