About the Role
Leicestershire County Council is looking to appoint to a Team Leader post within Finance Operations, Corporate Resources Department, supporting Adult Social Care (ASC).
The role will be integral to our large progressive and diverse team and will work in a fast paced and modern finance environment. To enable the collection of £56m of social care income across thousands of Service Users, and £160m of expenditure per annum to a large portfolio of social care providers and customers. Effectively developing and integrating staff, technology, and robust processes, we focus on our customers’ financial needs to drive our performance and we take pride in delivering a quality service.
The postholder will provide leadership and supervision for the Debt Resolution Team and will support in the resolution of high risk and complex queries. The postholder will be required to effectively monitor performance to ensure compliance with agreed targets/standards.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, focused with a commitment to:
1. Support the development of our culture of continuous improvement, managing quality assurance to optimise the recovery of income for our chargeable services
2. Demonstrate strong performance management skills, motivating the team and supporting continuous development on a personal and team level
3. Take responsibility for organising both your own work and that of the team, to achieve objectives in order of priority. This will involve adopting an agile approach to meet changing demands
4. Effectively manage complex debt cases which have been escalated from the team
5. Show strong communication skills with the ability to effectively manage challenging conversations, this will involve liaising directly with various stakeholders such as service users, team managers and the Legal Services department to resolve queries and aid the collection of outstanding debts
6. Demonstrate analytical skills, supporting Senior Management to produce monthly reports
