To lead and manage a newly established supported accommodation service for young people aged 16–17 who are transitioning from care or facing homelessness. The Registered Manager will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, person-centred support that promotes independence, emotional wellbeing, and safeguarding in line with Ofsted's National Standards for Supported Accommodation
This will be across 2 sites in Lincolnshire (Gainsborough and Grimsby).
Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Management
* Register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager for the supported accommodation service.
* Provide day-to-day operational leadership of the service, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices.
* Develop, implement, and regularly review policies and procedures in line with Ofsted standards.
* Recruit, supervise, and develop a team of support staff, ensuring robust induction, training, supervision, and appraisal systems are in place.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement, reflective practice, and young person-centred care.
Young Person Support
* Ensure all young people have individualised support plans promoting independence, education, training, employment, and life skills.
* Oversee assessments, risk management plans, and placement matching to ensure each young person's needs are met safely and effectively.
* Promote the voice, wishes, and feelings of the young people and advocate for their rights and best interests.
* Manage concerns and complaints promptly, ensuring transparency and learning from incidents.
Safeguarding & Compliance
* Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the service.
* Ensure all safeguarding procedures are robust, up-to-date, and fully embedded in daily practice.
* Ensure compliance with Ofsted Supported Accommodation Regulations, Children's Act 1989/2004, and other applicable legislation.
* Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring the home achieves and maintains a high-quality standard.
Partnership Working
* Liaise effectively with social workers, personal advisors, local authorities, families, health professionals, and education providers.
* Build strong local networks and partnerships to enhance outcomes for young people.
* Represent the organisation at external meetings, panels, and reviews.
Person Specification:Essential:
* Minimum of 2 years' experience managing or supervising in a supported accommodation, semi-independent or residential care setting for young people.
* Knowledge and understanding of Ofsted's National Standards for Supported Accommodation
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
* Experience in leading and developing staff teams.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to register with Ofsted and meet "fit person" criteria.
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) or willingness to work towards this within 18 months.
Desirable:
* Experience starting or registering a new service.
* DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) training.
* Experience working with young people with complex needs, including those leaving care, at risk of exploitation, or with mental health needs.
