Assembly & Production Operatives -Derby City Centre
Must have production and assembly experience using hand power tools
Full time only 37.5 hours a week
Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm & Friday 8:00am-1:30pm (37.5 hours a week) early finish on Fridays
Pay rate: £12.92 - £13.56 per hour paid weekly.
Location: Derby City Centre

Main Duties/Responsibilities
Your new position will involve you working within a small team of operatives, up to 5 people who offer a down to earth, friendly, family-like atmosphere of work, early finishes on a Friday, and on occasional breakfast is offered too.
You will be required to work within a small team, as well as individually assembling gangways and other products, for the transportation industry, including trains, trams, & buses, ensuring excellent attention to detail is being followed and taking a real pride in the work you are producing.
In this role you will:
* Set up and use machinery, as well as working with hand tools - essential must have experience of using hand power tools, there will be an assessment on site before you start.
* Working on a line, putting goods together in a factory or warehouse
* Completing tasks in a specific section of an assembly line, whilst meeting targets
* Report any issues with machinery or goods on the assembly line.
* Working safely at all times and making sure you meet health and safety requirements.
* As you gain more experience and responsibility, you may be required to train or mentor new members of staff or run specific sections
* Using and building metal frames to be built into trains and buses.
* Drilling and fixing screws and other small components into place
* Quality checking products to ensure they are safe to use
* Being on your feet, working at a work bench carrying out repetitive production & assembly tasks.
* Assisting in the production of products that are to be used on transport such as trains/trams/buses.

Qualifications/Licences/Certifications/Experience
* No specific qualifications or education subjects are required to do this role
* More practical, hands-on skills or experience would be useful instead of an accredited qualification.
* Experience within a manufacturing environment, building, assembling, and production of large and small parts. ESSENTIAL
* Experience using hand power tools at a competent level ESSENTIAL
* A good level (GCSE or equivalent) of Maths and English would be useful
