Senior Support Worker - Residential Childcare (EBD)
Pay: GBP16/hour (GBP29,120 per year)
Hours: 35/week including long days and sleep-ins
Sleep-in Allowance: GBP50 per shift
I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a client seeking a dedicated Senior Support Worker to join their children's residential home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
The Role Includes:
Leading care shifts and supervising team members
Acting as the responsible staff member during incidents and on-call
Delivering consistent, safe care that supports each child's wellbeing
Managing records, petty cash, and ensuring policy compliance
Helping children access healthcare, education, and positive activities
Maintaining a clean and homely environment
Liaising with external professionals and families
Contributing to training, supervisions, and appraisals
Shift Pattern:
Long shifts (15hrs), short shifts (8hrs), average 35hrs/week
Includes weekend and bank holiday working
Sleep-in shifts (11pm-8am) on a rota basis, paid at GBP50
Candidate Profile:
Experienced in residential childcare (essential)
NVQ Level 3 (or working towards)
Full UK driving licence
Confident leader, clear communicator, emotionally resilient
