Offer description

King Edward VI College, Stourbridge is a sixth form college and a member of the Heart of Mercia Trust. As A level specialists, we provide a deep and thorough academic curriculum and help our students to develop excellent independent study skills. Just as important is our broader development curriculum, with almost 100 different clubs, groups and activities operating on a weekly basis, and excellent preparation for careers and HE. Our students come from a great variety of social and cultural backgrounds, and we take pride in supporting them to form an active and friendly community. We are looking for two Inclusion Coordinators to join us, who will work flexibly to support teachers to develop inclusive practice and ensure students’ needs are met. One role is full-time (37 hours per week) and the other role is part-time (30 hours per week). The Inclusion Coordinator forms a key role in coordinating inclusive practice across the college. They will provide pedagogic guidance, supporting teachers to improve their practice and champion the development of inclusive teaching, learning and assessment. They will explore and implement a bespoke package of support for students through workshops, 1-1 tutoring and in-class support to ensure students become active and independent learners. The role will include the coordination of the student’s journey from induction to completion and their next steps. The College is fully committed to supporting all members of staff through staff development and in-service training. Both roles are permanent, term-time only with up to 5 extra contractual days (which will be paid separately), subject to the conditions of service handbook of the Sixth Form Colleges Association. Salary will be paid on the Sixth Form Colleges Association support staff pay scale 11 – 15. For the full-time role, this is currently £24,210.65 – £27,224.93 per annum, for term-time only. For the part-time role, based on 30 hours per week, term-time only, this is currently £19,630.25 - £22,074.27 per annum. For the part-time role, there is a requirement to work a Monday, but there is flexibility if the candidate would like one day off per week or two half days. Full requirements for the role can be found in the attached job description and person specification or from the college: email hr@kedst.ac.uk ; or access information via the college website: www.kedst.ac.uk. Please note that CVs cannot be accepted. Applications must be sent electronically in the original format (Word document). Closing date for applications is 9.00 am Monday 17 November. Interviews are anticipated to take place on Friday 21 November and Monday 24 November. We know that a diverse workforce drives innovation, creativity, and success. We actively encourage applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds. We recognise that everyone brings unique perspectives, experiences, and talents to our college, and we are dedicated to creating an environment where all employees can thrive. King Edward VI College, Stourbridge is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check. As part of the shortlisting, King Edward VI College (part of Heart of Mercia Trust) may undertake an online search in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020).
