We are currently looking for a quantity surveyor in the Plymouth area who is looking to make their next career move!
We are working closely with one of the South West's leading construction contractors, with over 30 years of experience in delivering construction change by enhancing communities and supporting business growth with great opportunities for progression within the business.
They work in a variety of sectors from commercial and residential to defence and education so it would be a great opportunity for someone looking to take a on a range of sectors and gain experience in each.
What you'll be doing - functions of the role
The functions and responsibilities of the role focus on four main elements:
Budgeting and procurement of key components for the companies projects, driving best value in sourcing materials and personnel, and procuring works packages that bring commercial advantage.
Build, engage and manage an approved supply chain that views our cleint as a key business partner, offering financial value and high standards of quality and service that benefit all business functions within our organisation.
Tracking and reporting key financial data to ensure we stay on budget, compliant with policies, processes and legal requirements, reporting performance and trends to senior management and supporting corrective change where needed.
Taking an active and visible lead in formulating and developing a strong sustainable procurement ethos and social value credentials that reinforce the company's reputation and tangibly benefit the communities our projects serve.
The ideal candidate would:
Have a BSC in Quantity Surveying or be close to the end of their course (essential)
Have a driver's license and car ()
RICS or similar accreditation (or working towards)
Familiarity with TOMS Framework, or commitment to develop this within 12 months of appointment.
