Overview

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides a first class integrated acute and community healthcare service within the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. It employs more than 4,000 staff with a combined total income of just over £220m. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services with 550 acute beds. £50m has been invested in healthcare services over the last 12 months across the hospital estate which includes two new, state‑of‑the‑art MRI scanners, the creation of a new 22‑beded Intensive Care Unit, a new Obstetric Theatre and expansion of the Neonatal Unit. Responsibilities

* To support the Care Group Management by inputting and extracting data from a number of sources in the development of dashboards, reports and updates.
* Liaise with clinicians to ensure continuity of service and implementation of agreed local, trust wide and national protocols and procedures.
* Support the Care Group Management team in the development of service reviews and subsequent service redesign.
* To manage the Administration Team within Emergency and Acute Care.
* Support the Care Group Management team with the overall supervision of the Administrative Team within Emergency and Acute Care.
* General Responsibilities – Managerial: supervise and lead a group of staff within the Administration Team. Incorporate all staff issues: sickness management, recruitment and selection, induction, training, mandatory training and development in accordance with organisation policies, training of staff in the workplace, KSF process, facilitation of continued professional development, attendance records/signing time sheets, managing annual leave and time in lieu, overtime management, competency issues, disciplinary issues – initiate appropriate action, investigate and action complaints, ensure a continuous level of staffing is available in the relevant areas.
* The role of this position is to support the Care Group Management team in the delivery and management of all patients within the Emergency and Urgent Care Pathway; ensuring adherence to local and national targets. In addition, you will be required to ensure that processes within the care group pathways and quality indicators are being met. This will involve working with various levels of personnel in order to ensure that deadlines are met.


Qualifications

* Previous experience in managing a service is essential.
* Calm and confident aptitude in a sometimes demanding and challenging environment.
