The Climate Coalition (TCC) is seeking an experienced consultant to lead corporate partnerships development for Great Big Green Week (GBGW) — the UK’s largest community‑led celebration of climate and nature action, reaching 1.2 million people in 2025 and aiming for 5 million by 2029.


Purpose of the Role

Design and drive a partnerships programme that expands GBGW’s national reach into mainstream audiences through trusted cultural, business and community channels, and generates new income to support the scaling of the campaign, year‑round organising, and inclusion of disadvantaged communities.


Objectives of the Consultancy

* 1. Build a strong corporate partnerships pipeline
o Identify and prioritise sectors and companies that align strongly with GBGW’s mission and audiences (e.g., retail, sport, telecoms, food & drink, housing, entertainment, transport, financial services, high‑street brands).
o Map where businesses can contribute reach, influence, assets, employees, and financial support.
o Develop and manage a structured outreach plan.
* 2. Create compelling partnership propositions
o Tailor propositions to different sectors and organisational motivations.
o Shape multi‑year partnership packages that combine reach, cultural visibility and income generation.
o Develop materials (pitches, decks, proposals, briefing notes) aligned with GBGW and TCC messaging.
* 3. Lead engagement with prospective partners
o Initiate and manage conversations with senior decision‑makers.
o Represent TCC and GBGW as the external ambassador for corporate engagement.
o Build relationships based on trust, shared values and co‑creation.
* 4. Secure strategic partnerships
o Negotiate terms that maximise reach, community impact and financial contribution.
o Scope and structure different partnership levels (Strategic Partner, Major Partner, Community Partner, In‑Kind Partner).
o Ensure partnerships meet TCC’s ethical screening and safeguarding criteria.
* 5. Support development of a year‑round partnership offer
o Work with TCC team to integrate corporate partners into GBGW June event programme, year‑round storytelling, media and content plan, community activation and grants programme, schools and youth engagement, high‑profile national cultural moments.
o Identify opportunities for partners to add reach (media partnerships, broadcast tie‑ins, staff volunteering pathways, customer engagement campaigns).


What Success Looks Like

* New multi‑year corporate partnerships secured, generating both income and high‑reach amplification.
* A strong, well‑qualified pipeline of prospects for 2026–29.
* Partnerships that authentically integrate with community‑led events and storytelling.
* Engagement with partners that reach beyond the climate bubble, helping GBGW connect with the silent middle through trusted cultural channels and high‑street presence.
* Financial contributions supporting year‑round organising and storytelling, inclusion funding for disadvantaged communities, schools and youth programming, expanded media and PR activity.


Consultant Profile

Essential
* Demonstrated experience creating and securing strategic corporate partnerships, ideally for movements, cultural programmes or social impact campaigns.
* Strong relationships across UK corporate sectors or ability to open doors quickly.
* Excellent storytelling and pitch development skills.
* Comfort navigating C‑suite, CSR, marketing, brand and ESG teams.
* Ability to articulate GBGW’s unique cultural and political value proposition.
* Experience in co‑creation with partners rather than transactional sponsorship.
* Strong project management skills and ability to work autonomously.
Desirable
* Experience working with cultural institutions, broadcasters, sport, retail or youth sectors.
* Understanding of UK climate and nature narratives, public opinion and beyond‑the‑bubble engagement.
* Experience with ethical screening and brand alignment processes.
* Familiarity with community organising, public engagement or grassroots movements.


Deliverables (First 6–12 Months)

Partnership Strategy & Target List
* Strategic map of priority sectors, organisations and entry points.
* Partnership proposition suite tailored to different audiences.
Outreach Programme
* Minimum number of high‑quality approaches per month.
* Regular progress reports to TCC leadership.
Partnership Collateral
* Case studies, pitch decks, proposal templates, partner packs.
Secured Partnerships
* At least one major partner secured within first 6–9 months (flexible depending on start date).
* Clear pipeline for second wave.
Integration Plan
* Recommendations for how partners should be woven into GBGW 2026–29 activity.


Ways of Working

* Consultant reports to the Director of The Climate Coalition, with close collaboration with the Head of Campaigns Delivery.
* Work can be remote, with periodic meetings in London or at partner locations.
* Contract length: 6 months initially, with potential for extension based on results and funding.
* Expected time commitment: 2 days per week (flexible based on proposal).


Budget

We welcome proposals outlining:

* Day rate or fixed‑fee structure.
* Suggested time allocation.
* Any relevant expenses.
