We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, visionary, and forward-thinking Assistant Head (Teaching and Learning) to join our leadership team at Bryanston. Reporting to the Deputy Head (Academic) and the Head, this is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious educational leader to shape and lead outstanding academic provision at an exciting time in the School’s development. This role offers an opportunity to have a pivotal impact on how we teach and how our pupils learn.
As an Assistant Head (Teaching and Learning), you will provide strategic direction and practical leadership across the School’s teaching and learning. You will play a key role in championing innovation and the use of digital technology, implementing research-led practices, and supporting teachers in achieving overall excellence.
A key aspect of this role will be to lead on the implementation and evolution of the Bryanston Method, our distinctive educational approach that places the individual learner at the centre of the academic experience. You will ensure that the principles of this method—individualised learning pathways, strong pupil-teacher relationships, and a focus on developing independent, curious, and creative thinkers—are actively promoted, evaluated, and refined across departments.
The successful candidate will be:
1. An exceptional practitioner with a passion for pedagogy, teaching, and learning;
2. Familiar with current educational research, pedagogical strategies, and best practices;
3. An advocate for the powerful role of pedagogical technology in the classroom;
4. A collaborative leader capable of inspiring colleagues and pupils;
5. Committed to developing the potential of every pupil through the Bryanston Method;
6. Expected to teach a reduced timetable in a subject area and make a full and active contribution to the co-curricular life of the School.
