Recently, a major British infrastructure firm engaged us to move their legacy asset registers out of hundreds of disconnected spreadsheets and into a centralized relational database. In this role, you will work closely with our developers to make sure this migration goes smoothly, verifying the integrity of the data and helping write simple scripts that keep everything synchronized. The role
As a Data Operations Assistant, your focus will be on the practical work of moving, formatting, and verifying data. You will spend your days ensuring database records are clean, accurate, and structured properly. This is not about managing high-level database architecture. It is about doing the important, hands-on work that keeps systems running reliably.
On any given week, you might find yourself checking a client migration script, cross-referencing imported database entries against source files, writing simple scripts to format raw text data, or updating technical documentation. You will collaborate closely with our engineering team to bridge the gap between messy client files and clean databases.
What we need from you
We do not expect you to have deep database administration experience, but we do need you to be methodical and curious. This role is designed for someone starting their career in data or software operations.
First, you need to be exceptionally organized. When dealing with thousands of rows of infrastructure data, small details matter. Second, you should have a basic understanding of databases and how structured data behaves. Finally, you should be completely comfortable with work that is not flashy. We build utilities and internal tools, and we take pride in doing that work extraordinarily well.
Helpful background
We use a specific set of tools and will help you get up to speed on them, but it is helpful if you have some basic familiarity with:
* Basic JavaScript or Node.js for writing simple utility scripts.
