We are seeking a skilled and motivated Ophthalmic Photographer to join our friendly and dedicated Ophthalmology team at Warrington Hospital, to cover a fixed term 12 month maternity leave vacancy. Working 30 hours per week, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging to support the assessment, treatment, and monitoring of patients with a wide range of ocular conditions.
You will work with our multidisciplinary team – including consultants, optometrists, orthoptists, nurses, technicians, and administrative staff – and be responsible for capturing accurate and reliable ophthalmic images using a variety of specialist equipment. This includes retinal photography, OCT scanning, visual fields, and other imaging modalities used within our busy Eye Unit.
You will ensure that imaging is undertaken to the highest clinical standards, following departmental protocols and maintaining excellent attention to detail. The role also involves supporting clinicians by providing accurate, timely images for diagnosis and treatment planning, contributing to smooth patient flow, and ensuring a positive patient experience.
This post is ideal for someone who is organised, patient-focused, and confident working with technology in a clinical environment. Previous experience in ophthalmic imaging or medical photography is desirable, but we welcome applicants with strong transferable skills and a willingness to learn and develop within the specialty. Training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
