Overview
We are retained by a growing organisation within the UK energy and infrastructure sector to appoint a BESS Technical Manager. This role offers a strong step-up opportunity for Senior Engineers who are ready to take on broader responsibility while continuing to operate as a technical authority.
The position provides technical leadership across the delivery and operation of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assets, supporting projects from late-stage development through construction, commissioning, and into operation. Alongside this, the role introduces people leadership and stakeholder management responsibilities, with structured support in place.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership (Primary Focus)
1. Act as technical lead across BESS projects, ensuring robust system design and delivery
2. Review and define technical specifications, system architecture, and performance requirements
3. Support procurement activities, including technical evaluations and contractor/OEM selection
4. Oversee commissioning, testing, and technical acceptance of BESS assets
