Mechanical Technician – Barrow Gas Terminal Site: Barrow-in-Furness Job Type: 12-month contract, core role, 7 days on / 7 days off, 11-hour shifts Purpose Undertake routine and non-routine mechanical maintenance and defect repairs to ensure the reliability, safety, and availability of plant and equipment for gas production, processing, and condensate storage.

Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Technical Perform routine and complex maintenance tasks per operational procedures.
Investigate and resolve technical issues on critical plant.
Prepare technical reports and maintain records for audits and analysis.
Conduct commissioning and decommissioning activities.
Contribute to plant modification design and implementation.
Supervision & Safety Supervise staff, vendors, and contractors to ensure safe, efficient work.
Adhere to safe working practices, permitry, and plant protection protocols.
Support emergency response duties and maintain competencies.
Collaboration & Leadership Maintain and develop technical and interpersonal skills.
Collaborate effectively, influence constructively, and communicate clearly.

Technical Competencies Experience in petrochemical process operations/maintenance.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and plant processes.

Crane driving (Level 3) and emergency response training.
Preferred Training/Certifications Mechanical CompEx TMJI10 / TMJI19 Bolted Connections SBT 01/02 Small Bore Tubing Banksman Slinger Forklift Training Education & Experience Required: BTEC ONC / Ordinary Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. xxuwjjq
