We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance team in an entry-level role. As an Accounts Assistant, you’ll gain hands-on experience across all areas of finance – from processing invoices and payments to supporting month-end reporting – while developing your skills and knowledge in a supportive environment. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of our Finance team. You’ll be responsible for helping to keep our financial records accurate and up to date, including processing purchase invoices, raising sales invoices, reconciling bank accounts, and assisting with supplier and customer queries. You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in wider month-end and year-end processes, giving you valuable exposure to the workings of a busy finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their finance career who is keen to learn and develop. Full training will be provided, and you’ll work closely with experienced colleagues who will support your growth. · Process purchase invoices, ensuring accuracy and correct coding. · Match, batch, and code supplier invoices and credit notes. · Prepare and process supplier payments, liaising with vendors to resolve queries. · Raise and issue sales invoices, credit notes, and statements. · Post bank transactions and ensure bank reconciliations are completed daily. · Reconcile and post daily cash sales transactions to the ledger. · Assist in credit control, monitoring outstanding debts and contacting customers as required. · Support month-end tasks, including journal postings, accruals, and prepayments. · Maintain accurate and organised financial records in line with audit requirements. · Provide ad hoc support to the Management Accountant and Finance Director. · Support with year-end processes and audits. We are a small finance team so successful candidate will be exposed to a wide range of accounting tasks. This breadth of knowledge and experience will set the candidate up well for future finance roles.
