EYFS Teaching Assistant (Full Time, Temporary)

£480 - £500 per week (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)
April 2026 – July 2026
The School and Role
We are looking for a Nursery Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school in North Tyneside. This full-time role is due to begin in April and will continue until July. The hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm.
Working within the Early Years team, the desired Nursery Teaching Assistant will support children across the provision, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. The role will involve supporting learning through play, assisting with phonics and early number development, promoting positive behaviour, and contributing to observations and assessment in line with the EYFS framework.
The school is part of NEAT Academy Trust, a well-established and supportive multi-academy trust. It benefits from strong leadership, a collaborative staff team, and excellent Early Years provision.
The successful candidate must hold a full and relevant EYFS Teaching Assistant qualification and have recent experience working within a Nursery or Early Years setting. A strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, and supporting children with a range of needs is essential.
Requirements
The desired EYFS TA will have;
1. Experience of working with primary school aged children, ideally EYFS
2. Experience of working with pupils with SEND
3. A passion for the progress of primary school pupils
4. An ability to work as part of a team
5. QTS within the UK
