Job Purpose
You’ll lead maintenance operations within a wholesale geographical area to enable the effective delivery of the corrective and preventative maintenance work banks to deliver business performance. You’ll deliver against identified maintenance industry best practice KPI's to meet the wider strategic requirements of the Wholesale business
You’ll be responsible for effective delivery of corrective and preventative maintenance work banks to deliver business performance and improve asset performance within a wholesale geographical area, driving productivity across area by working closely with local FSE teams and Work Management to improve scheduling principles, resolve complex job issues, reduce job rejections and repeat visits.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
* Lead effective maintenance planning and backlog management to reduce asset downtime, working visibly and collaboratively with Field Service Engineers to resolve complex issues.
* Partner with Technical Coordinators to develop annual maintenance plans that support strong business performance.
* Share data and insights at weekly field hub meetings to inform teams of asset performance, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
* Support root cause analysis and help prioritise maintenance tasks to reduce reactive work and improve long‑term asset health.
* Promote consistent standards across teams, ensure safe working practices, and build strong relationships to deliver a reliable and inclusive maintenance service.
Technical Skills & Experience
To be considered for this role you’ll be qualified to a minimum of either City and Guilds, ONC or Level 3 Diploma in Engineering with hands on engineering experience gained in an operational environment and have strong engineering competence relating to water industry assets.
* Strong experience in planning and delivering maintenance activities, with a focus on both corrective and preventative work.
* Proven ability to manage complex operations, delivering high standards of customer service, efficiency, and cost‑effectiveness.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage personal workload and support wider teams in achieving maintenance KPIs.
* Solid understanding of work order lifecycles, asset management principles, and the financial impact of maintenance activities.
* Knowledge of Reliability Centred Maintenance and FMEA processes, with experience in translating these into effective maintenance plans.
* Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams, influence stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement.
