Pharmacist - Fixed Term (12 Months)
Location: Staffordshire
(Newly Qualified Pharmacists Welcome)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and patient-focused Pharmacist to join a well-established pharmacy team based within a busy hospital environment in Staffordshire.
This role is ideal for both experienced and newly qualified pharmacists looking to develop their clinical skills in a dynamic and supportive setting.
Working Pattern
1. Monday - 9 hours
2. Wednesday - 9 hours
3. Thursday - 9 hours
4. Friday - 9 hours
About the Role
You will be part of a stable and experienced pharmacy team, supported by an ACT Manager, Technicians, and Dispensers. The pharmacy handles approximately 15,000 items per month and works closely with NHS healthcare professionals.
The hospital environment offers exposure to specialist areas including:
5. Oncology
6. Haematology
7. Spinal injuries
8. A busy A&E department
Strong relationships with the NHS Trust and excellent transport links make this an attractive and accessible workplace. On-site parking is also available.
Key Responsibilities
9. Accurately dispense prescriptions in line with legal and professional standards
10. Provide expert advice and counselling to patients on their medications
11. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
12. Conduct medication reviews and support safe prescribing practices
13. Maintain accurate records and manage stock effectively
14. Deliver additional services such as vaccinations (where applicable)
15. Support health promotion and public health initiatives
What We're Looking For
16. Registered Pharmacist with the GPhC
17. Hospital pharmacy experience preferred (but not essential for newly qualified candidates)
18. Strong patient care focus and attention to detail
19. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
20. Ability to work independently and proactively
21. Up-to-date clinical knowledge and a flexible approach
