Overview
Senior Project Planner - Water Industry role at Stantec.
This is an opportunity to join Stantec’s Major Projects Delivery team and contribute to delivering critical environmental and infrastructure improvements in the water sector. You will work on projects across the UK, primarily within water sector Design & Construction (D&C), collaborating with a national team from pre-construction through to final delivery. You will develop and maintain detailed project schedules, track progress, and proactively identify and mitigate risks to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
Within the region you’ll have the opportunity to work on projects such as Yorkshire Water’s Storm Overflow Alliance, United Utilities’ Design Development Partnership, and Northumbrian Water’s Strategic Technical Partnership. The role can be based from offices in Leeds, Manchester, Warrington, Newcastle, Edinburgh, or Glasgow. You will join a collaborative team, working closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities
As a Senior Project Planner, you will:
* Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
* Monitor progress and performance, updating schedules as required
* Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks to keep projects on time and on budget
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders across delivery teams
* Lead programmes autonomously and provide value through consulting
Qualifications
* Proven experience managing complex projects/programmes using Primavera P6
* Ability to lead programmes autonomously and mentor others
* Strong collaboration skills with a wide range of stakeholders
* Experience managing change within D&C in P6 in accordance with contract requirements
* Solid understanding of D&C sequencing and interfaces
* Familiarity with NEC 3 and NEC 4 contracts
* Previous experience in the water sector is beneficial but not essential
