Overview
Join to apply for the Water Construction Technician role at Severn Trent.
At Severn Trent, we’re embarking on an exciting £415m project to replace 870 miles of old water pipes across the Midlands – and we want you to be part of it. This is the biggest investment in water infrastructure in the region in a decade and it is set to improve water quality, reduce leaks and make a water supply more reliable for millions of people. The new pipes being installed will last up to 100 years. We are creating new jobs across the region with you based in Birmingham, Nottingham or anywhere in between. We’ve got opportunities for you to help shape the future of water in the Midlands.
We are looking for a Water Construction Technician to come in and work as part of a team to successfully deliver mains renewal construction activity for a specific site within one of the 4 regions (North, South, East and West).
Responsibilities
* Operate assets on the network on behalf of the construction team while carrying out large-scale mains renewal work at specific locations.
* Assist and support the Network Construction Manager in the scoping and delivery of mains renewal schemes within their area of accountability and work alongside the Lead Operative to deliver on-site activity.
* Undertake significant, large-scale construction activity on-site in a single location, including excavation, installation, testing and commissioning of new mains and assets.
* Deliver construction work to a set budget, working alongside the Network Control Manager.
* Work a 42-hour week, Monday to Friday, starting at 7:30 AM and ending at 4:30 PM, with a half-hour early finish at 4:00 PM on Fridays.
