Job Overview
Applicants are invited to apply for the role of Research Fellow in Frimley Emergency Department. The role is 75% clinical and 25% non-clinical. We are looking for doctors to start in August 2025.
This is an excellent opportunity for doctors to maintain clinical work while having dedicated time for their areas of interest. It supports sustainable working practices and helps build CVs and experience.
Study leave: 18 days (10 days general, 5 days private, 3 days for exams/interviews). Study budget: £650/year.
The emergency medicine rota includes evenings, nights, weekends, and bank holidays. LTFT enquiries are welcome.
Applicants must have at least 24 months of NHS experience. This advert is open to ST1/2 and ST3+ applicants.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Collaborate with ED Consultant lead for Trauma & Nurse Lead on trauma audit and quality improvement.
2. Develop strategies, policies, and guidelines related to major trauma.
3. Analyze data for the National Major Trauma Registry and identify key learnings.
4. Deliver and develop MDT trauma training, including weekly trauma skills teaching.
5. Participate in ATLS courses, if appropriate.
6. Facilitate TILS and Trauma Team Leader courses.
7. Organize the annual Frimley Resuscitation conference.
8. Co-chair Trauma Mortality & Morbidity meetings and implement improvement actions.
9. Disseminate learning outcomes to ED and external teams.
10. Work with ED Trauma Team and IT to develop trauma documentation systems.
11. Support colleagues in expanding their experience and projects.
