Job Duration Start Date: Sep 2023 till April 2024 (8 months) Job responsibilities - Represent Shemar in assuring deliverable of the sub-contractor Overhead Line (OHL) construction work in accordance with National Grid Specification and Health and Safety procedure - Manage Shemar sub-contractors performance on site and ensuring highest Health and Safety on site - Oversee subcontractors, labour and material requirements for the contract and support Project Managers with matters primarily relating to onsite activities. - Solve site problems when they occur, providing feedback to Project Managers on any defects or defaults found and put forward any innovative ideas to alter current methodology - Understand the design process, and work with the design manager, within cost restraints, to facilitate the design, and coordination of production information, to suit site requirements and conditions - Regularly inspect works for compliance with design, and specifications, and ensure all design solutions offered by designers and sub-contractors fully comply with the project requirements - Promote the site safety culture, ensure all works are carried out in planned, controlled and safe manner in accordance with statutory regulations, current standards and company health, safety, environmental and quality standards - Implement correct commercial control of contractors, within pre-set budgets, ensure that contractual and claim correspondence is suitable, action within agreed timescales Requirements - At least 10 years’ experience as a Construction Manager on Overhead Line construction according to National Grid specification - Experience in construction of 275kV and 400kV Overhead Line Tower for National Grid - Possess National Grid Overhead Line site construction qualification (BESC/Person) - Experience in managing and reviewing contractor Risk Assessment Method Statement (RAMS) including temporary work - Ability to ensuring quality control of site construction - A strong understanding of National Grid OHL Specification and Effective communication in English
