The role
1. Leading coverage on stocks relating to the sector and writing thematic research
2. Marketing of the work produced by the sector team • Leading client presentations on the stocks under coverage
3. Communicating, engaging, and interacting with the Sales team to disseminate work and build a client franchise
4. Creating, maintaining and updating industry models
5. Collecting and analysing new data (to support new ideas or reports) with the help of the team
6. Managing the regular flow of earnings results, news flow and model updates
7. Distributing news comments via email / Bloomberg
8. Responding to client requests for data / information
9. Attending client and company meetings, and industry conferences
10. Building relationships with companies’ investor relations teams and sector experts
Person Specification
11. Excellent spoken and written communication skills
12. Strong Excel and analytical skills
13. A good grasp of valuation metrics and value drivers of a business
14. An understanding of coding, in particular SQL and Python
15. Experience in financial reporting, modelling, and valuation of companies
16. Effective relationship building skills, and willingness to engage with our Salespeople and Sales Trading team, including making ad hoc presentations to them
17. Ability to demonstrate intellectual flair, independent thinking, initiative, selfsufficiency and ambition, with a passion for equity markets
This role is a controlled function under the FCA rules. Employees must obtain and maintain certification in order to be employed in a controlled function.
