About the Role
We're seeking an experienced PMO Planner to support a portfolio of eight concurrent projects within a leading UK electricity transmission organisation. You'll play a key role in developing schedule foundations, maintaining high‑quality Microsoft Project plans, managing cross‑project dependencies, and supporting Project Managers to ensure alignment with planning standards and governance.
This is an opportunity to contribute to critical national infrastructure and help drive consistent, insight‑led planning across a busy engineering programme.
What You'll Do
Build complete Microsoft Project schedules from the ground up (WBS, logic, calendars, baselines).
Maintain and update eight live project plans, creating consistent views, filters, and reporting layouts.
Manage and track project dependencies across engineering, procurement, construction, outages, and commissioning.
Support Project Managers Day‑to‑day, ensuring plans remain accurate, governed, and aligned to PMO planning standards.
Analyse critical paths, identify slippage and risks, and support mitigation and recovery planning.
Extract data from MS Project and develop clear, insightful reports and dashboards in Excel or Power BI.
Provide portfolio‑level insight on milestones, schedule health, progress trends, and cross‑project impacts.
Ensure full adherence to planning frameworks, quality guidelines, and PMO governance processes.What We're Looking For
Strong experience as a Planner / PMO Planner / Project Controls professional.
Advanced Microsoft Project user capable of building logic‑driven schedules from scratch.
Skilled in dependency management, critical path analysis, and scenario ('what‑if') planning.
Comfortable working closely with Project Managers, coaching and supporting them on planning discipline.
Confident extracting, analysing, and presenting schedule data using Excel or Power BI.
Detail‑oriented, organised, and proactive in identifying risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities.Nice to Have
Experience in electrical transmission, utilities, energy, or other regulated infrastructure programmes.
Understanding of outage planning, commissioning, and engineering lifecycle stages.
Familiarity with Project Online, Project for the Web, or SharePoint.
APM/PRINCE2/PMO certifications.Working Pattern
Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite in Warwick, remainder remote.
Occasional travel to engineering sites or project offices.Interested?
