An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to undertake the role of Training and Skills Administrator.

The Resource Management Unit is responsible for providing the efficient and effective publication of advanced duties and course planning for all officers and police staff using the appropriate computerised systems.

Working in the Resource Management Unit of Essex Police you would be responsible for the planning of officer training courses, updating course data, producing registers, distributing course information and updating of officer and staff skills. This is achieved using the bespoke duty planning system to manipulate duties and then confirm to officers and staff subsequent requirements. Administrators are expected to ensure that any assignments meet pre advised criteria; often conflicting considerations need to be reviewed and resolutions put in place to allow operational requirements to be met.

The role is an interesting and insightful position where you will be expected to play your part in ensuring that the logistical planning needs of a dynamic and fast moving environment are met.

What we are looking for:

You will be able to evidence of your ability to learn and utilise various computer systems to achieve defined outcomes in a timely and efficient manner, as well as display solid decision making skills taking into account the benefits and risks of available options, and be able to convey reasoning and judgement to key stakeholders. You will have a natural aptitude for logistical thinking and good communication skills, and be seeking to constantly innovate and improve, looking at new methods and processes of working with a goal of providing the highest levels of service to internal customers.

You will be required to assist Resource Managers with the provision of a range of management information and statistics, completing any necessary returns in respect of staffing levels, abstractions, sickness, overtime, rest days/bank holiday working, etc., in order to facilitate informed decision making.

* Treating others with respect, compassion and tolerance. The ability to deal with stress when it occurs and the awareness to seek support and support others.

The department is based at Essex Police Headquarters, close to Chelmsford Town centre and easily accessible by road and on public transport routes.

This role has been defined as 'home based agile', with the successful applicants working predominately (80% or more) at home and only in the office when required to do so.

Working hours are usually Office hours Monday to Friday.
