Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in procurement while contributing to a more sustainable future? Join a leading force in procurement and supply chain management, driving innovation across vital sectors such as healthcare, housing, and education — all while championing Net Zero and decarbonisation goals.

About the role:

We’re looking for a meticulous and forward-thinking Buyer who is not only analytical and commercially savvy but also deeply passionate about sustainability and reducing carbon impact. In this role, you’ll support the Category Manager in managing key business areas, helping to drive spend under management and deliver best-in-class, environmentally conscious procurement services.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring compliant procurement processes, managing supplier and member contracts, and analysing data to support strategic decisions — all while embedding sustainability into every step.

Key responsibilities:

1. Lead tendering and procurement processes aligned with Net Zero and decarbonisation objectives, ensuring compliance with EU Procurement regulations.
2. Understand customer needs and provide strategic, sustainability-focused procurement advice.
3. Identify opportunities and risks, contributing to category strategies that enhance spend management and environmental impact.
4. Manage mini-competitions, price list reviews, call-off contracts, and framework agreements.
5. Implement and manage Framework Strategies that support financial performance and carbon reduction goals.
6. Conduct market analysis and research innovations that support greener procurement practices.
7. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring alignment with sustainability standards.
8. Engage regularly with clients to ensure excellent service delivery and shared sustainability goals.
9. Monitor and report on contract performance, focusing on customer retention, spend growth, and environmental outcomes.
10. Support marketing and sales strategies that promote sustainable category growth.
11. Analyse data to measure contract performance and environmental impact, supporting continuous improvement.

Key skills and experience:

* Education: Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience preferred.
* Experience: Proven background in procurement and contract management, ideally within a consortium or public sector environment.
* Experience: Background in decarbonisation and retrofit desirable.
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of EU Procurement regulations and sustainable procurement practices preferred.
* Skills: Excellent communication, attention to detail, organisation, and time management.
* Sustainability Focus: Demonstrated passion for Net Zero, decarbonisation, and embedding sustainability into procurement.
* Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain strong supplier and customer relationships.
