We are looking for a proactive and adaptable individual to join our Imaging Assistant team. This multi-faceted position involves supporting all aspects of imaging services, including patient interaction, administrative duties, and assisting with the upkeep of essential imaging equipment.
As our Trust embraces a seven-day working model, we seek individuals who can offer flexibility and commitment to ensure scanning sessions run smoothly throughout the week. This full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week and opportunities for growth within a forward-thinking clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Work as a member of the interdisciplinary radiology team, liaising with colleagues, patients, and the public.
2. Support patients verbally, especially in potentially embarrassing and distressing situations, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
3. Coordinate with the wider hospital multidisciplinary team to maintain timely imaging investigations for in-patients.
4. Ensure correct identification of patients according to departmental policy.
5. Assist patients with changing and escort them to the appropriate areas of the department.
6. Maintain tact, diplomacy, and professionalism at all times, respecting patient privacy and dignity, especially when acting as a chaperone.
7. Assess patient condition upon arrival and adapt care based on age, well-being, and clinical need.
8. Demonstrate empathy and provide reassurance.
9. Recognize your role's limitations and seek specialist assistance when necessary.
10. Assist patients with personal hygiene, including toileting and safe handling/disposal of body fluids.
11. Transfer patients onto imaging beds safely and ensure their continued safety during procedures, including pushing beds, trolleys, and wheelchairs.
