Overview

The Performance Manager role is with the QBE Re, the reinsurance arm of QBE Insurance Group. This is a permanent role based in London, offered on a hybrid working model.

Your New Role

Reporting into the Head of Performance, you’ll work closely with QBE Re teams and the underwriting office to deliver performance analysis, business insight and planning across your dedicated areas.

You’ll be responsible for deploying and maintaining effective processes, tools and controls to measure underwriting performance through the cycle.


Main Responsibilities

* Manage, coordinate and support performance analysis, insight and planning for QBE Re.
* Ensure appropriate data, methods, tools and reports are in place to evaluate underwriting performance.
* Collaborate with Executive Directors and Pricing/Product Analytics leadership to embed performance management.
* Follow up on global performance and derive actionable insights.
* Support Underwriting and Pricing/Product Analytics teams with deeper analysis and performance follow-up.
* Produce internal and external underwriting performance reports.
* Oversee the business planning process in collaboration with Executive Directors and Group stakeholders.
* Support teams throughout the planning cycle, including timelines, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
* Partner with Portfolio Optimisation to evaluate strategic business plans.
* Provide expertise and support across Underwriting and global Performance & Portfolio Analytics teams.
* Work cross-functionally with underwriting, accumulation, reserving, finance, pricing and analytics teams.


About You

Your background in reinsurance or general insurance will help you support our teams in making informed, forward-looking decisions. Experience in performance, planning or analytics within corporate or consulting environments will be especially valuable.


Skills You’ll Need

* Experience in reinsurance, general insurance, corporate or consulting environments.
* Analytical and problem-solving mindset with clear written and verbal communication.
* Comfortable working with senior management and industry professionals.
* Experience in insurance data analysis, systems and project work.
* Exposure to finance and/or business planning in financial institutions.
* Familiarity with business intelligence and management information reporting.
* Degree in a mathematical or economics-focused discipline.
* Ability to support strategic decision-making and future planning from a financial performance perspective.
