SW Resident Engineer - JLR Project

Mission of the Role: Providing product engineering and SW planning support with SW expertise to OEM and internal SW team.
Key Objectives of this Role:
1. Support the Chief Engineer and Project Manager for SW Planning and Technical Activities and coordination with the customer priorities, as well as technical program support.
2. Establish and maintain a good and effective Customer relationship:
• Liaison between customer and Visteon.
• Coordination of customer feedback with internal Product Deliveries teams.
• Interface between Customer, Systems, Program Management, SW Organization, Functional Validation, and wider Visteon groups ( Manufacturing, Product Assurance). Understand and convey the Customer’s development priorities and specifications to the SW Team to support Quarterly Business Results and Sprint planning.
• Create and plan work packages for the SW Development Team implementation (including Systems and Functional Validation teams).
• Triage, assign, and prioritize defect fixes.
• Unblock Impediments for the SW Development team.
• Attend / Coordinate / Present at Customer meetings as required.
• Develop a working knowledge of the product line and vehicle line to be able to support the customer's needs.
• Support the Chief Engineer and Project Manager to drive the delivery of the SW team deliverables.
3. Engineering Interface:
• Participate in Visteon Product Delivery team meetings (Whiteboard, Change Control Board, Peer Reviews, Project, Tracking and Oversight, Technical Design Reviews, etc.).
• Support change control process for Customer requested changes (Design Change Requests) as required.
• Provide technical interpretation and context to Product Delivery/SW teams from the customer.
• Support SW release readiness discussions – testing input and customer risk representation.
• Support the Visteon Problem Resolution System and prevent the recurrence of actions.
• Support the SW team with defect management and prioritization activities.
• Support interpretation of validation results.
4. Quality
• Support the closure of all Customer issues via their system within the time required.

6. Reduction in post-release issues and improved release stability.
7. Positive feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
8. Resolution of escalations and alignment on key decisions.
9. Successful rollout and adoption of core operational processes.
10. Improved speed and efficiency in issue resolution and change handling.
11. Increased cross-functional alignment and reduced delivery bottlenecks.
12. High completion rate of action items from coordination meetings.
13. Consistent delivery of clear, actionable program status updates.
14. Early identification and mitigation of risks through reporting tools.

16. Support the timely and quality delivery of initial software milestones.
17. Set up and optimize issue tracking and resolution processes.
18. Align planning cycles with business and customer priorities.
19. Implement a clear process for managing change requests.
20. Facilitate regular cross-functional coordination.
21. Develop tools or reports to monitor delivery progress and risks.
Qualification, Experience, and Skills:
• Engineering or project management Degree, or recognized equivalent experience.
• Experience in Product Development Engineering.
• Experience in Software Development Activities
• Experience with products with a high level of software content and complex customer requirements.
• IT literate, including MS Office, MS Project.
• Good Collaboration and communication skills;
