Position Overview:
JTE Consultants Ltd, a specialist in Fire & Security solutions, is seeking an experienced Fire & Security Design Manager to join our team. Based in Brighton, you will lead the design and implementation of fire protection, access control, CCTV, and security systems across various sectors. This role requires technical expertise in Fire Alarms, Access Control, and CCTV, including conducting site surveys, specifying equipment, and ensuring UK regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. System Design and Planning: Develop detailed plans for fire detection and alarm systems, access control, and CCTV, ensuring compliance with client needs and UK standards.
2. Senior Design Authority: Verify and approve design outputs to uphold quality and regulatory standards.
3. Equipment Selection: Choose suitable system components, ensuring compatibility and compliance.
4. Installation and Commissioning: Supervise or assist with installation, configuration, and testing of systems.
5. Testing and Maintenance: Perform routine testing and troubleshooting to ensure system reliability.
6. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs and installations meet UK fire safety and security regulations.
7. Project Management: Manage project aspects including budgets, timelines, and client communication.
8. Client Liaison: Collaborate with clients to meet their requirements.
9. Mentoring and Training: Guide junior staff and trainees.
10. Proposal and Quotation Preparation: Prepare technical proposals, designs, and quotations.
11. Site Surveys and Meetings: Conduct site visits and attend design meetings.
12. Technical Support: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting.
13. Industry Standards: Keep updated with industry advancements and regulations.
Requirements:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, Security Systems, or related field.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in fire and security system design.
* Proficiency in design software such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit.
* Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
* Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
* Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel.
* Fire alarm qualification recognized by FIA or BAFE.
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
