Job description
Our client, a leader in the T & D industry, is seeking a skilled Project Manager (Transmission) to join their dynamic team in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on delivering high-quality infrastructure projects essential to the national grid and broader energy sector, with an emphasis on safety, quality, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee a portfolio of M&E projects from initiation to completion
2. Ensure top standards in health, safety, and environmental management
3. Collaborate with expert teams to manage risks and deliver projects on time and within budget
4. Provide leadership on Design and Build projects, managing cross-functional teams
5. Engage effectively with clients and suppliers
6. Contribute to new project bids using industry knowledge
7. Ensure compliance with National Grid Substation build standards
8. Drive projects through all life cycles, ensuring successful delivery
Job Requirements:
9. Experience with 400kV+ substations and 132kV projects is essential
10. Proven leadership on Design and Build projects, managing cross-functional teams
11. Excellent stakeholder management skills
12. Qualification in construction, engineering, or a relevant field
13. Project Management qualification (e.g., APM, PMP)
14. Strong commercial experience with NEC contracts
15. Ability to manage risks and identify opportunities
16. Strong regulatory knowledge including HSWA, CDM, and EAWR
17. Experience in budget management with a history of delivery to time and cost
18. Proficiency with Project Management software
