About The Role
In FTI Consulting's Economic and Financial Consulting (EFC) practice, we help our clients navigate legal, regulatory, and international arbitration proceedings while supporting strategic decision-making and public policy debates around the world.
The Capital Markets Services team within EFC advises decision‑makers on complex financial instruments and derivatives. We provide expertise in trading, investment management, valuation, and risk management across multiple asset classes.
What You'll Do
* Take a central role on projects, handling day‑to‑day delivery of sub‑workstreams and the effective use of junior staff.
* Develop, with senior team members, the approach to projects or large project components and manage issues proactively, keeping senior team members informed.
* Prepare formal reports and present findings to clients.
* Build and manage a network of professional relationships with clients.
* Help develop client proposals and participate in business development activities, including presentations and networking events.

What You Will Need To Succeed
Suitable candidates will be problem‑solvers who can build bespoke approaches to complex, unstructured problems. You should have strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent analytical skills, and an eye for both the big picture and fine detail.
Key competencies include:
* Critically evaluating and comparing different sources of information and assumptions.
* Developing and applying robust methods to address complex economic/financial issues.
* Managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
* Communicating effectively and authoritatively, both internally and with clients.
* Reporting and interacting with all levels in an organization.
Basic Qualifications
* Degree in a quantitative discipline; a postgraduate qualification or relevant professional qualification (e.g., CFA, CQF, FRM) is preferred.
* Several years of relevant work experience in quantitative modelling, derivative valuation, or risk management.
* Direct experience in energy markets (e.g., at utilities, energy traders, oil & gas majors) is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior consulting experience is a plus.
* Experience in other asset classes (equity, FX, credit) is a plus.
* Familiarity with energy market regulation is advantageous.
* Working programming knowledge, especially in Python, and potentially other languages (R, C).
* Working knowledge of market data systems (Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, ICIS).
