Construction Lecturer - Alternative Provision School
Via Tradewind Recruitment
Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working with an inspiring Alternative Provision school in South Northamptonshire, seeking a dedicated and resilient Construction Lecturer to join their team.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people who face barriers to mainstream education, including SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, and social or emotional difficulties. The school provides a nurturing environment where pupils can rebuild confidence, develop life skills, and achieve meaningful qualifications through practical learning.
As a Construction Lecturer, you will deliver engaging hands-on sessions in areas such as basic carpentry, brickwork, site safety, and tool use. You will help pupils gain real-world construction skills while also promoting teamwork, self-discipline, and positive behaviour.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about vocational education and committed to making a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable learners. Experience working with young people with SEMH needs is desirable, but applicants from construction industry backgrounds with strong mentoring skills are also encouraged to apply.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering practical construction lessons tailored to individual needs
Supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional regulation
Creating a safe, structured, and motivating learning environment
Working closely with pastoral staff and SEN teams
Requirements:
Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
Construction trade experience or vocational teaching background
Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
In return, Tradewind Recruitment offers excellent support, competitive pay, and access to professional development opportunities.
If you're ready to inspire young people through construction and help them build brighter futures, we'd love to hear from you.
