Field Service Engineer – Process Instrumentation & Automation
South (Milton Keynes or Oxford or M4 corridor)
Role + Responsibilities for a Field Service Engineer:
The role requires servicing, calibrating and fault diagnostics/repair of a range of electronic and mechanical process control instrumentation.
Main responsibilities for a Field Service Engineer:
1. To commission, calibrate and repair onsite instrumentation
2. To work in all industries within the Company customer database
3. To liaise with the Service Coordinators to ensure that all spares, tools and paperwork is available to enable them to carry out their duties
4. To liaise with customers when required prior to executing the job to ensure full understanding of the nature of the job and also to advise estimated time of arrival and of any delays which may be anticipated
5. To adhere to site safety rules, permit to work systems and carry out risk assessments
6. To work to local and industry procedures and to comply with industry codes of practice and the Company quality management system
7. Requirement to travel throughout the UK, overseas and possibly offshore
8. Provide services and support to other departments and customers as deemed appropriate by the Services Manager
9. Timely and accurate job reporting in accordance with the Company service report forms
Qualification + Profile for a Field Service Engineer:
10. Ideally qualified to ONC/HNC level, preferably in Electronics or Instrumentation of control
11. Recognised apprenticeship in the above disciplines is ideal or a minimum of 2 years' Process Control experience
12. A clean driving licence
13. Problem solving and diagnostic skills
14. Process Instrumentation or similar experience would be preferred
15. To be highly motivated and can work on own initiative or as part of a team
16. A flexible approach to working activities
17. Excellent communication and organisational skills
18. The ability to develop good working relationships with customers
19. Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
