Job Details Young Carers Activities Volunteers Volunteer at our young carers group and gain new skills in youth work. You will be supporting and supervising young carers aged between 8-17 years at monthly clubs that are held in Eastbourne on a Tuesday evening, Bexhill on a Wednesday evening and at Uckfield on a Thursday evening. Activities include sports, crafts and games. There is also the opportunity to help on day trips and activities during the school holidays. Purpose of role To help provide a supportive, safe, fun environment for young carers at a monthly young carers group on Tuesday evenings in Eastbourne. To support activity days during the school holidays (depending on availability). Days out include trips to the zoo, paintballing and outdoor adventure activities. What will you be doing? Attending monthly club for young carers aged 8-17 Providing support for activities at the club such as games, sports, arts and crafts Providing general supervision of children and young people Helping to set up and clear away before and after the group What skills, experience, qualities do you need? A commitment to the vision and mission of Care for the Carers A desire to support young carers Experience of working with children/young people (this may be through family or informal) Personal experience or knowledge of caring would be an advantage but is not essential What support will you get?
