Hairdressing Tutor position at Learning Curve Group (LCG). Location: Sheffield, S1 2GY. Contract: Permanent. Hours: 37.50 per week. Salary: £28,000 to £32,960 per annum.
Role Information
At our Hair & Beauty Academies, we offer a dynamic, hands-on experience in fully operational salons that mirror real-world environments. Learners gain practical skills while training in a professional setting, supported by a wide range of accredited courses spanning Levels 1 to 4. With 13 academies across the country and growing, we are building the future of the hair and beauty industry.
As a Hairdressing Tutor, you will deliver and assess courses for apprentices, adult learners, and study programme participants, bringing industry expertise to life through our comprehensive training programmes. You will empower learners to achieve their potential and consistently deliver outstanding results. Flexibility is important, as working days and hours may vary with course starts and academy timetables. Tutors are contracted between Monday and Sunday, 07:00 to 22:00, with shifts that can vary.
Duties
* Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and differentiated teaching sessions that support learner progression.
* Adhere to the scheme of work and the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) standards.
* Deliver theory and practical sessions aligned to industry and qualification standards.
* Assess and provide constructive feedback on learners’ work, identifying achievements and areas for improvement.
* Manage learner records and progress using digital systems for assessments, portfolios, progress monitoring and attendance.
* Embed Maths, English, digital literacy, and personal development across the curriculum.
* Participate in LCG quality assurance activities with the quality team.
* Foster a positive learning environment and promote professional standards and expectations.
* Undertake continuous professional development to maintain current industry and teaching practice.
* Support learners’ employability, work readiness, and progression into employment or further education.
* Collaborate with the wider team to ensure curriculum alignment and continuous improvement in teaching and learning quality.
* Generate teaching and learning resources as required or use LCG resources.
* Deliver KPIs in line with company expectations (Register, marking policy, learner satisfaction) and complete regular/ad hoc reports as needed.
* Promote the ethos and development of LCG in all activities and contribute to salon business targets where applicable.
* Comply with safeguarding, Prevent and Health & Safety policies and be vigilant to risks.
* Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Essential Criteria
Experience: Relevant industry experience as a professional hairstylist; experience in delivering and assessing apprenticeships, study programmes, or adult education; strong digital literacy and familiarity with online learning platforms and management systems.
Knowledge & Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; passion for learner achievement and progression; highly organized with the ability to manage workload and priorities; adaptable teaching methods; strong classroom management; commitment to continuous professional development.
Qualifications
Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Hairdressing (or equivalent). Recognised teaching qualification (minimum Level 3 Award in Education & Training, preferred Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training) or working towards it. Assessors Award (e.g., TAQA/A1, D32/D33) or working towards it.
